Article 01What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit a website. Cookies allow the site to recognize your device between visits, store preferences, or collect browsing data.
Not all cookies are equal. Some are strictly necessary for the site to function. Others are used to measure audience, personalize content, or track your behavior for advertising purposes.
Article 02Our approach
At Advena, we've made a simple choice: use as few cookies as possible, and no tracking cookies at all.
In practice, our advena.lu website uses only strictly functional cookies, necessary for the user experience. We use no advertising cookies, no behavioral tracking cookies, and no third-party social media cookies.
To measure site traffic, we have chosen a compliant-by-design solution that places no cookies on your device (see article 04).
Article 03Cookies used
The advena.lu website may place the following cookies on your device:
3.1 Banner consent cookie
- Name: advena-cookies-accepted
- Type: LocalStorage (technically not a cookie in the strict sense, but local storage on the browser side)
- Purpose: to remember that you have acknowledged our cookie information banner, so that it is not displayed again on every page
- Duration: unlimited until manually deleted or in private browsing
- Type: strictly necessary for browsing convenience
3.2 Session cookie (where applicable)
If you use an interactive feature that requires session state (a multi-step form, a cart, etc.), a technical session cookie may be placed temporarily.
- Name: varies by context
- Type: session cookie
- Purpose: to keep your session active for the duration of your visit
- Duration: deleted when the browser is closed
- Type: strictly necessary
3.3 Third-party cookies
No third-party cookies are placed on your device while you browse advena.lu.
Article 04Cookieless audience measurement
To understand our website's audience, we use Vercel Web Analytics, an audience measurement solution that works without cookies, without digital fingerprinting, and without any personally identifiable data.
This solution aggregates visits anonymously, does not track users across different sites, and does not cross-reference data with other sources. It is GDPR-compliant by design and does not require a prior consent banner.
Data measured: pages visited, traffic sources, device type (desktop, tablet, mobile), country the connection originates from. No data is personally identifiable.
Article 05How to refuse or delete cookies
Because our website uses only strictly functional cookies, refusing them would render certain site features inoperable. Nevertheless, you retain full control over the cookies stored on your device.
5.1 Deleting cookies already stored
You can delete the cookies stored on your device at any time through your browser settings. The procedure depends on the browser you use:
- Chrome: Settings ‣ Privacy and security ‣ Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings ‣ Privacy & Security ‣ Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences ‣ Privacy ‣ Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings ‣ Cookies and site permissions
5.2 Preventive blocking
You can configure your browser to automatically block the placement of cookies, or to ask for your consent before each one is placed.
5.3 Private browsing
Using your browser's private browsing mode automatically deletes cookies and local storage when the window is closed.
Article 06Amendments
We reserve the right to modify this cookie policy at any time, in particular to reflect any technical changes to the site or to our analytics stack.
The date of the last update is shown at the top of the document. If, in the future, we were to add a new tool likely to use non-functional cookies, we would put in place an explicit consent banner prior to any collection.
