Article 01What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit a website. Cookies allow the site to recognize your device between visits, store preferences, or collect browsing data.
Not all cookies are equal. Some are strictly necessary for the site to function. Others are used to measure audience, personalize content, or track your behavior for advertising purposes.
Article 02Our approach
At Advena we made a simple choice: use as few cookies as possible, and set nothing optional without your prior consent.
Concrètement, notre site advena.lu dépose par défaut uniquement des cookies strictement fonctionnels, nécessaires à l'expérience utilisateur. Notre mesure d'audience, elle, fonctionne sans aucun cookie (voir article 04).
We also run advertising campaigns through Google Ads. To know which ones actually generate enquiries, we use the Google Ads measurement tag — but it is loaded only after you click “Accept” in our banner. If you decline, or for as long as you have not chosen, no request is sent to Google and no advertising cookie is set.
We use no social-network cookies, no tracking share buttons, and we never resell browsing data.
Article 03Cookies used
The advena.lu website may place the following cookies on your device:
3.1 Consent cookie
- Name: advena_consent
- Type: first-party cookie, value granted or denied
- Purpose: remember your choice (accepted or declined) so the banner is not shown on every page, and so ad measurement is loaded only if you accepted it
- Retention: 6 months, after which you are asked again
- Nature: strictly necessary (it records your consent)
3.2 Session cookie (where applicable)
If you use an interactive feature that requires session state (a multi-step form, a cart, etc.), a technical session cookie may be placed temporarily.
- Name: varies by context
- Type: session cookie
- Purpose: to keep your session active for the duration of your visit
- Duration: deleted when the browser is closed
- Type: strictly necessary
3.3 Google Ads advertising cookies — only with your consent
If, and only if, you click “Accept” in our banner, the Google Ads measurement tag is loaded and may set the following cookies:
- Name: _gcl_au (and related cookies set by Google)
- Issuer: Google Ireland Limited
- Purpose: attribute an enquiry sent from our site to the advertising campaign that brought you here, in order to measure how well our ads perform
- Retention: up to 90 days
- Nature: optional — subject to your prior consent
Until that consent is given, Google's script is not downloaded: because of our site, your browser connects to no Google server, and Consent Mode v2 stays set to denied for every advertising purpose.
3.4 Other third-party cookies
No other third-party cookie (social networks, ad networks, behavioural tracking tools) is set on your device while you browse advena.lu.
Article 04Cookieless audience measurement
To understand our site's audience we use Plausible Analytics, a European analytics solution that works without cookies, without fingerprinting, and without any personally identifiable data.
It aggregates visits anonymously, does not follow users across sites, and does not cross-reference data with other sources. It is GDPR-compliant by design and requires no prior consent.
Data measured: pages visited, traffic sources, device type (desktop, tablet, mobile), country the connection originates from. No data is personally identifiable.
Article 05How to refuse or delete cookies
You keep full control over the cookies stored on your device. Advertising cookies are set only with your consent, and that consent is as easy to withdraw as it is to give. Strictly functional cookies cannot be turned off from the site: declining them goes through your browser settings and would break some features.
5.1 Change or withdraw your consent
The button below brings our banner back: you can change your choice at any time. Declining takes effect immediately — the advertising tag is no longer loaded on your next visits.
5.1 Deleting cookies already stored
You can delete the cookies stored on your device at any time through your browser settings. The procedure depends on the browser you use:
- Chrome: Settings ‣ Privacy and security ‣ Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings ‣ Privacy & Security ‣ Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences ‣ Privacy ‣ Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings ‣ Cookies and site permissions
5.2 Preventive blocking
You can configure your browser to automatically block the placement of cookies, or to ask for your consent before each one is placed.
5.3 Private browsing
Using your browser's private browsing mode automatically deletes cookies and local storage when the window is closed.
Article 06Amendments
We reserve the right to modify this cookie policy at any time, in particular to reflect any technical changes to the site or to our analytics stack.
The last-updated date is shown at the top of this document. Any new tool liable to set non-functional cookies will, like Google Ads measurement, be subject to your explicit consent before any collection, and documented here.
